Track every ink, stay compliant
EU REACH regulations require tattoo artists to document inks used on each client. pencild automates ink traceability records and generates professional Ink Passport documents.
The problem
EU compliance is messy without the right tools
- Spreadsheets and paper trails
- Tracking batch numbers and expiry dates in spreadsheets is error-prone, time-consuming, and easy to forget.

Since January 2022, EU regulations require tattoo artists to maintain ink traceability records. Different countries have different requirements.
| Country | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Denmark | Mandatory since 2018. National law requires ink documentation. |
| Netherlands | Required via EN 17169. Ink traceability mandatory for professional artists. |
| Germany | EN 17169 plus national regulations. Strong enforcement. |
| France | EN 17169 voluntary adoption. Recommended for professional practice. |
